Methane gas is produced naturally in nature by the anaerobic decomposition of organic matter. Most often being found naturally near marshes and bogs but is also produced in large quantities in municipal landfills. Methane gas is flammable and can present a potential explosion hazard. Methane gas can travel great distances and migrate into buildings located on our adjacent to the source.
In order to prevent methane gas from entering buildings or escaping from the landfill perimeter, various control or collection systems can be installed. Methane gas will follow the path of least resistance and control of the methane gas can be attained by providing an artificial pathway to the venting system. Methane collection systems are custom designed and constructed to the particular needs of a project or site.
