Edgeboro International was hired to install the methane ventilation system which included placement of the stone ventilation layer, Geo-vent gas collection system and a vapor barrier. A 145,000 SF Liquid Boot Vapor Barrier was installed below the slab of the Wegmans building. The Liquid Boot Vapor Barrier, unlike traditional membrane barriers which need to be welded together, creates a seamless 60 ml liner that conformed to the detail and penetrations that were encountered during the application.
Liquid Boot is a cold sprayed applied membrane. Liquid Boot is ideal for difficult applications in which numerous penetrations and custom detail is to be encountered. The Liquid Boot application excels in this type of environment by allowing the certified applicator to quickly spray the liner onto penetrations of any shape or size, producing a gas tight seal that traditional plastic liners would have difficulty sealing.
