To control and contain contaminated ground water or landfill leachate at existing industrial and landfill sites, vertical barrier and reactive walls can be very effective solution. Vertical barrier walls are used to contain an area of contamination. The wall is constructed around the perimeter of the contaminated area and must be able to key into an underlying natural impermeable layer to complete the containment of the area. Reactive walls area placed relative to the direction of a migrating source of contamination. The contamination is forced to pass thru the wall which been designed to filter or neutralize the contamination within the ground water.
